able2cope 193 Posted July 2, 2014 I burp too regularly after eating and I'm 20 months out.. I take it as a sign that I'm full/possibly eating one spoonful too much - I've had hiccups also - watch that he isn't eating/drinking too fast also.
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted July 2, 2014 Agree with Selena Hay - hiccups, burping, runny nose are signs you are over full, and ate just a little too much. It means you have so much food stuffed in your stomach that your vagus nerve is irritated. I get a runny nose as my "overfull" reminder to eat slower and eat less next time. Sr. Sabanas 3 Posted July 2, 2014 I came on this morning to find out about hiccups because I have been getting them quite often. I have a follow up with my surgeon tomorrow and will find out for sure sheet they're all about.. One thing for sure is that yeah they're much more annoying than before being slewed. mi75 1,235 Posted July 2, 2014 could also be a vagal nerve stimulation, which is a nerve running right around our stomachs. not unusual, and happens when the stomach is 'full'. i had hiccups terribly right after surgery but it let up within a couple days!
