Have no idea what that is. Can some one please educate me?

My surgery was June 2, and I have stopped losing weight. I'm keeping my calories below 600. I have no idea what is next.

Someone please help.

You're in a stall.. Your body is in shock from surgery and trying to figure out what happened. Stalls usually happen for every wls patient at around 3-4 weeks. I wouldn't be worried, at this point your body is still healing. Plus, your calories are still pretty low and your body probably thinks its starving. Keep off the scale for a few days/weeks. It'll start coming off again soon.

Pouch tests are more for veterans who have been slacking on their eating or eating too big of portions, or just need a reset.

Thank you, I thought I did something wrong and it isn't working any more.

I'm having a hard time getting all my Protein in while keeping my calories down.

From what I've read on the forums, It's very common to enter a stall during the 3rd week post op. I hit a mini stall in my 3rd week, Keep up the good work, I still don't get all my Protein in but I keep trying.

I'm 3-1/2 weeks out now -- Are you focusing on getting Protein? I focus on 60 grams a day and get pretty close most days but I'm basically not eating anything that doesn't count towards that Protein total. No carbs except maybe in the greek yogurt. My calories are between 300 and 350 most days because I just can't eat anything else if I work on the Proteins.

Maybe you should look to see that it's all about the protein and cut out other things that aren't.

You are still to early to worry about things like "Pouch Tests", etc....things like that are for those who have been at their goal for some time, know their band intimately, and can detect the slightest changes....

I don't like the term "Pouch Test"...however I do a variation every 6-8 weeks, and believe me I Know when I need to, and I know the difference it makes for me......

Also, it will not give you something you never had.....only restore

I like 1 % milk with carnation instant breakfast chocolate . French vanilla Protein drink from Walmart. I'm only a week out so still on liquids but I like these

dont these have sugar in them? i would say if you are going to drink anything, it should be Water or Protein shakes. avoid any sugar sweetened anything!

to the OP, assuming you are on soft foods ... scrambled eggs, ricotta or cottage cheese, milk, greek yogurt, tofu, mashed Beans, nut butters (unless you are not allowed nuts, i wasnt), ground meats cooked moist, chicken cooked moist. if you are getting in your fluids, Protein and exercise, you will begin losing again soon enough. the same thing happened to me and i am still losing at 11 months post op. (PS, you dont have a pouch, you have a sleeve)

No they do not have sugar it's sugar free carnation breakfast and sugar and lactose free 20 gram french vanilla Protein. There are plenty of items that meet sugar free amd high in protein!

Did your doctor actually tell you to stay under 600 calories a day? A lot of people find that when they aren't getting enough calories their body goes into starvation mode and refuses to let go of even one pound. You might want to check with your nut or the doctors office.

you probably need more than 600 cal a day. but dont worry too much about that, for now focus on getting in all your Protein and all your Water.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
