Hungry but unable to eat :(

Recommended Posts

I keep feeling hungry.... I miss my comfort foods but when I try to eat my stomach hurts and I stop. I guess that was the point of surgery to eat less but ugh.

I'm 3 weeks post op and before surgery was 79 kgs and am now 72.1 most of my weight loss was in the first week the second week and so on super slow...

I am feeling sad like dissatisfied like depressed and missing food

It will change. I'm six months out. I like food mixed together so the first two months was hard. Really hard. Mentally mostly. I was happy to be free of filling up. But had the blas for weeks. My body was tired and comfort food is out. Getting a Vitamin b shot helped. The part of the process where we change our eating habits is not easy. This is the part that is work. That's what makes WLS not an easy way out. When people tell me that I look good I tell them it has been hard work. It will get better when you get a few months out. Hang in there.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
