Sorry to hear about your port flipping!! Glad you were able to get it fixed. I was banded in February, not April, but I'm not too far off and I'm doing great! I'm down 40 pounds so far and I feel so much better, not to mention my health is getting back on track! I chronicle my progress in my blog, so there are pictures and stuff if you're interested in reading more about my story. The link is below in my signature. Best of luck to you in your journey :)

I have been banded since February 18th. So far down 55 lbs. Wish I could exercise more but so busy that by the time I have the time to exercise, I'm too tired. I started at 235 lbs abd as of today, I'm 180 lbs.

I was banded on April 3, 2014. I'm down 44 pounds and feel wonderful. I've had two fills and no complications or problems at all. It's been the best decision I've ever made.

Wow! You guys are doing great! I'm still down 33lbs. I wondered why I wasn't losing and couldn't believe my fills didn't help! Well now I know I didn't have any fills! I have 4cc in my band now and I can tell! So I'm hoping to start losing weight again!! It nice to see others enjoying there band! I love mine (even though the port flipped) I'm still doing good and I'm excited to get back to the gym and on track with my new life!

ChristineZ, while your port was "flipped" was the doctor putting fills in, but they weren't really working because it flipped?

Yes. We tried and it wasn't working so he said we need a x-ray and found out it was flipped.

How is everyone doing??

I'm doing great after my port revision! I think I'm going to need another fill soon. I'm starting to eat more then I was a week after surgery. I know the liquid seddles and you have to find the green zone. I'm hoping it's coming soon!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
