sherilynn 1 Posted April 23, 2007 Hey all, I'm nearly three months out, and I've been rather lucky - I think - with my port. I had pain the first few weeks, but now I can comfortably sleep on my left side, etc. However, every now and again, I feel sort of a 'click' in my port location. Not quite a click, but a 'feeing', sort of a pressure, or even a tug of my muscle. It's so hard to explain. In a way, it's my port reminding me 'Hey…I'm in here!'. By no means is it painful. Somedays I seem to feel it much more often, a few times a day. Sometimes I go days without feeling it. Can anyone else relate?
reqgoddess 0 Posted April 23, 2007 Yes, I can relate. My port lets me know it is there. Like you said, not pain, but sometimes when i lay on my side, I can feel it. I think because i sleep on a mattress with springs. Even though it is a good mattress and only like 2 years old, I can feel it.
marys 2 Posted April 23, 2007 Yes - most of us can relate. It was about 6 months before I could sleep comfortably on the port side (and by then I adjusted to the other side!) and while most of the times I don't notice it at all...occassionally it will just 'hurt' like an achey feeling - sometimes if i overeat that's where I feel it - sometimes it feels like it is coming out of my belly and all sorts of things. It never seems to last so I just go with it. As long as it goes away I think it is pretty normal - some people put a heating pad on it and you might try that but i think you are ok/can relax.
