How long does it take stitches to heal

I am just wondering how long it takes stitches to heal.

My sutures were dissolvable. I have been using liquid Vitamin E and my incisions look good. I was worried because of my dark skin that the scars would look crazy.

Anyway, I would say that I started to notice healing after about two weeks. I guess as time goes on they start to fade out a little.

I would probably say about 2 weeks they were pretty good, but my doctor didn't allow me to take a bath till about 4 or 5 wks out.

My incisions all healed but one on the far right within 2 weeks. For some reason that one took longer. About a week after it was healed it began to fester some and my nurse friend said it looked like a stitch was working it's way up. It got bad and infected so my pp gave me any antibiotic but one spot kept breaking open every day. It would be all closed every morning. On Monday I put a stirle strip on it and have yet to take it off. At least the infection is gone and it doesn't hurt anymore. I have a fill on Friday so will have the doc look at it then.
