NikkiMoore 3 Posted June 30, 2014 My surgery was on June 25 and I'm 11 lbs down. Is it normal to feel hungry? I thought that hormone was in part of the stomach that was removed??

McButterpants 2,846 Posted June 30, 2014 What you may be feeling is acid, not hunger. Many new sleevers feel this. Talk to your doc - he may prescribe a proton pump inhibitor. In the beginning I confused hunger with acid - I'm 7 months out now and I can tell the difference. I know when I should be hungry and when I shouldn't. Also, true hunger feels different than it did before surgery - hungry now feels more like "empty" - you'll have to learn your new sensations. Best of luck to you! mamaism 0 Posted July 19, 2014 I had my VSG July 14. On the 18th, seemed like my stomach woke up and said, "What the heck!, where's the food?!" Seems I was hungry all day. Of course I'm still on liquids. This morning I was awaken by terrible cramping in my stomach. I think it's gas. It subsided and went back to sleep. Had a dream a birthed a BIG baby. HAHA Got up. Had a little hot tea...fine. Tried a little broth. Oh man, such pain with each sip!. Is my stomach trying to tell me something?
