Hi, I'm 2 days short of four weeks post op. I'm having severe reflux. I can't keep anything down. Has anyone had this issue? Please let me know how you addressed it. Thank you

Your profile doesn't say what surgery you had but if you're vomiting, call your doctor. It's not normal and you may need some medication or something for the reflux. It can also damage your new stomach.

Hi, thanks for the response. I have emailed my Dr. I saw him last Friday and he didn't suggest anything.

I'm was regretting the surgery the first 2 weeks but now I am back there again. It's just awful being so dehydrated and just not getting on top if this.

Yes, I am 3 weeks 4 days. Since getting sleeved I have developed acid reflux I never had before. I was given Pepcid as one of my take home meds but that wasn't cutting it. Now I am on Prilosec and all is much better. Good luck to u! No regrets! In a few months when we get these little tweaks figured out and weight is dropping. I believe it will all be worth it!!!

Also I have twice gone in to my PCP and received IV fluids for dehydration. Take care of yourself proactively. Good luck again

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
