Where do you shop for your clothes???

I have a large wedding ring (I like thick bands so it's three separate rings soldered together) and a small anniversary ring. But I haven't gotten them sized yet because gold can only take so many sizings... trying to just go with one or two.

Both of them will freely fall off if I shake my hands around. The other day at a self-checkout one fell off and went under the register. Damn skippy I made them get some burly guys and move the whole cabinet.

Anyway - for the wedding band, I had them put a "sizer" inside. That's what she called it but I'm not sure that's the real name. It's kind of like a spring loaded tensioner. It's great at taking up the slack.

For the smaller ring (a regular 3 stone anniversary ring) I just bought a companion band, plain gold, in the size that fit and I wear it above the one with the stones. Since it fits, and the other one can't fit over it, it keeps it nicely in place.

Just found this link for you. It explains the tensioner thing I was talking about. There are a few other options here too.

I should add (because I can't just edit and tack it on) - the tensioner really does work to keep the ring upright, too. My fingers are tapered and comparatively thin, so I usually end up with my rings on backwards and constantly have to fidget with them to keep them upright. Especially with my wedding band - it has a large stone, and two heavy channel set bands. It likes to sit sideways, and jabs DH if he holds my hand. :girl_hug: I never even thought of using one of those things to keep the ring upright, but that has been an added bonus -- it really works!

Thanks Wheetsin for the ideas! I wear rings on every finger- except the one I lost somewhere in the grocery store when it fell off and I never did find it. Silver diesn't size well so when they get too big I will have to give them to my dd who is waiting not too patiently! I bought these round plastic things that fit on the ring and tighten them up at Walmart and they are working for now till I reach goal and can have my wedding ring and mother's day ring sized.

I recently bought some clothes at Cato. The pants were a size 16 and before my band surgery I was wearing size 20/22. I have bought clothes at wal-mart. I have also bought clothes at burlington clothes factory.

I have found a few things online at www.torrid.com. But I warn you banded people not to buy too much. I have bought and shrunk out of a few new things and regret the purchase.

ISN'T THAT WONDERFUL?

So anyway, now I am waiting to see exactly what is necessary and just keep wearing the same ol thing every day.

Which is easy for me as I am a mom at home.

My favorite places to shop are CJ Banks and Lane Bryant. Sometimes I shop at Fashion Bug as well as Pennys. Old Navy is great too!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
