Had my surgery on June 10 and yesterday I went to the grocery store. I picked up a large package of Water bottles and put them in the cart. I remember feeling a little bit of pain and thought oh I better not do that again. Ever since then, that biggest incision site has gotten more sore. Now its painful to cough or lay on that side! Anyone else experience this?

You may want to call your doctor and check in.

I am apprehensive about the same issue. I'm like, who is going to carry my big a** purse? The answer? Me. The kids said they would help me put my classroom up, but you know how that is. Please go to the Dr. just to make sure it's not serious. Let us know what happens. Get well soon.

this is what I had, when I went to see them I had pulled the abdominal wall where they had cut through the muscle to do the sleeve they told me it is not unheard of and happens a lot and not to worry to much two weeks later the pain has pretty much gone but I would suggest you get it checked out for peace of mind

It is probably nothing, but this is something you should check in with your doctor about. Good luck & LIFT FROM YOUR LEGS! :P

I called the doctor and they got on to me for lifting Water. I can't lift anything over 10 lbs for 6 weeks...my bad, I thought it was 3 weeks. She told me to watch for nausea, vomiting, or fever, but she thought I would be fine in a few days. Its so sore!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
