Missbaisah 23 Posted July 13, 2014 OMG the pain of a gallbladder attack is horrid. Even after multiple trips to the Urgent Care in the middle of the night, my regular dr keep insisting that it was heartburn or something which I never get. He told me to take Priolosec.. I was like are you kidding me!! After a final trip to the E.R. with severe pain on the scale of 1-10 it was 11, which also sent my BP soaring. They determined a full blown GB attack so after the got the BP down they recommended immediate removal of the GB and I've never had a tummy ache since and that was July '11. (Knock on wood). Recovery was really easy. I stayed off work for 2 week but I could gave gone back after a week. I was off pain meds after 2 or 3 days. No regrets!!. The surgeon gave me a souvenir gallstone that looked like the size of a pecan "in the shell" huge.. I hope this surg will be along the lines of that recovery.. Fingers crossed!!
