June 18 surgery--and yeah, 18 pounds down......

Recommended Posts

Hope all the June 18ers are in fine form!

I've been following my surgeon's orders not perfectly, but as near to perfectly as I can (can't always get all that Water IN).

It took me 12 minutes to walk 1/4 mile today--that's my speed....and three of these days I just couldn't walk any of the 30 minutes I'm supposed to be doing.

I got on the scales this morning and was totally SHOCKED!!! but in a really, really good way.

Mostly, I feel pretty good since surgery. No pain meds, but I still get that "I must have done a thousand sit-ups yesterday, but I've completely forgotten it." And I've got Heartburn--like, WHERE did THAT come from?

Just wanted to share the (mostly) good news--and send out a word of encouragement to those who are going through these early days. :-)

I was June 18 as well. I am down 12lbs. I also need to walk more. I am committed to going to my gym every day this week. I am very tired of the liquid phase and am glad to be adding some semi-solids on Wed! I am back at work starting today and have to remind myself to get up and stretch. Sitting for a long period makes everything stiff.

I am also June 18. So far I have lost 25 lbs but only 1 lb in the last 2 weeks. I am eating correctly and walking 30 min 5 times a week but I feel like I'm not getting anywhere. This week I am going to concentrat on protien and water...maybe that's my problem.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
