Hi, it sounds like you are too tight, or irritated, or eating too much, or too late..

I think many more things could be added to this list...but tomorrow is Monday, hopefully your dr office is open and you can check in with them? In the meantime, you could go back to your liquids to give it a rest, and be sure to drink some Water to rinse everything out half an hour before bed tonight!

Good luck! That must be very uncomfortable!

Could be all of what Kitt3000 said or your band could have slipped. I would go see my doctor to have an xray to make sure

There are a number of reasons for experiencing reflux with a band, and definitely if your band is adjusted a bit too tight is one of them.

It is excellent advice to contact your surgeon first thing in the morning, as they will be the best source for the medical advice you need to address what is happening in your case to cause the reflux.

Be very wary of anyone who offers medical advice on a forum unless they have the proper credentials to do so. It is reckless and capricious for anyone but a qualified physician to suggest to you that your band might have slipped.

If you read correctly you see that I also said that I would go see the doctor to get an x-ray. I did suggest that she contacts her doctor. I was giving information based on my experience as well. ?????????

First, are you eating too close to bedtime? I had similar issues, along with reflux during the night, and I have learned, for myself, not to eat anything after a certain hour....

Second, I have been banded coming up on 4 years, and of all my Dr. visits, that is the one question they always ask....any problems during sleep...so it is something they are always looking out for.....not normal at all....

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
