Today I had my weekly weigh-in and I have gained 0.2 lbs. This has been my first gain since surgery in Jan. I have lost 81 lbs and I should not be so upset about this. 81 lbs is huge!

So, why does this hurt so bad. A lot of questions are running through my head. What did I do wrong? Have I hit my limit; never loose again?

I know it seems silly, but I could really use some encouragement right about now.Weight Gain Panic

what were the previous weeks like? Perhaps you had a big loss and then things stabilized a bit... or if the losses have been very low for a bit, perhaps you do need to consider lowering your calories just a little. But I'm guessing it's just a little Water retention or something and next week will show a loss again. Hang in!

Girl, if you are worried about .2 pounds, you are in for a long haul. Relax, it's normal. You will have weeks you lose, weeks you stay the same and weeks that you gain a pound or five. Track your intake, move your body, and go by how your clothes feel, not by the number on the scale. You will drive yourself insane otherwise.

You're kidding? Right? You are stressing over two tenths of a pound?! My bladder holds that much. You seriously need to look at the big picture. 81 pounds..that's great!! Have you stalled yet? This could be the start of a stall. No biggie. It happens...keep following the rules and move on.

My bladder holds .5 when I really have to go and .2 with 20 minutes of the initial go. So pee first and relax.

I have found that when my weight loss halts for a little while, my body is changing sizes. ( moving down) . Relax. This will happen from time to time .

I already replied to this on your status......Smash that dam scale and concentrate on issues like well being and good health...You really need to get it together. 81 lbs since January...

Just erased the status reply!

Change your brain set and how you look at food and weight loss.....And don't compare yourself to others..Your body will lose at its own pace! Not what you think it should..

You're getting in your own head too much, my friend. This a critical point, and you have to keep calm or you'll derail, so listen up:

No, you're not done yet.

It's all good.

Trust the process.

Look at how far you've come.

Smile in the mirror.

Put on your favorite song and dance.

Breathe

…and let it all go.

And for heaven's sake Celebrate the new life you're creating, because at the end of the day, that's what it's all about.

Be well…

My surgeon told me unless the gain is over 3 pounds, its not actually a gain at all because there are so many more factors involved as to what could make your scale show a higher weight.

If you are worried about stalling, lower your calories by 100 per day for a week and see what happens. It really doesn't take much of a drop to kick your body into gear again.

I also find that calorie trackers and nutrition labels are fairly inaccurate, so I set a calorie goal and then try to stay about 50-100 below that goal in my calorie tracker, and I find that is a much more accurate daily count for me.

Hope this helps!

I agree with lumpyspaceprincess! If it's under 3lbs of a gain it is a blip that will likely be gone tomorrow. Look at the big picture....you are down 81lbs .... You totally rocked this!!

Time of month could play up to three lbs in variance for me..... back when I I had those issues. Even now after a hysterectomy, I can vary a lb over a weekend. Since surgery, I've had one week when I didn't think the scale reflected my real result. Sure enough the scale was down the next day. This was after a long visit with my toilet that was a little overdue. I agree too that when the scale pauses, I can find clothes in my closet that fit much better. This is all about ELIM, if you are Eating Less and Increasing Movement, you are rocking this program!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
