fezik23 240 Posted June 29, 2014 Had my surgery on Wednesday the 25th and I've been home since Thursday evening. Since Friday I'm experiencing a temp mostly between 99.6-100.5. I know that's not really comsidered a fever but it's enough to make me feel chilled and pretty tired. I admit I have had trouble getting my Water in. Yesterday I managed about 40 oz plus some ice pops. I'm wondering if others have dealt with this, or if there's anything else I should be doing. I'm really not in pain, just sore, no real nausea, no vomiting. Am I expecting too much? I suppose if it's still an issue om Monday I will call the surgeon. Skywalker 170 Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) Always erring on the side of caution with this, I'd say at least pay a walk in clinic a visit and see what they have to say. Edited June 29, 2014 by Skywalker
Wynnie 186 Posted June 29, 2014 I ran a low grade fever for the first week, then it was normal. Call your doc just to make sure and when you can get an extra sip in here and there that should help as well.
JJ Schlic 9 Posted June 29, 2014 My surgery was on June 24th, and I ran a low grade temp, with chills a couple times since then. Our bodies have been through a tremendous shock, and hydration is critical. I also took a tylenol, rested, and used a cool cloth. My surgeon advised to call immediately if the fever went about 100.5. lifestartsnow4me 81 Posted June 29, 2014 I've dealt with the same thing. My Doc said most low grade fevers are coming from the lungs. Please remember to deep breathe and cough and use your IS. It has helped me so far.
jesswls 17 Posted June 29, 2014 I am 6 weeks out and I had the same low grade fever for about a week. My doc said as long as it didn't go above 101 I was ok. She My body was healing from a major surgery so it was completely normal.
