For Your Liquids----tea

Recommended Posts

A lot of folks have not probably heard of places like Teavana (we have several here in Houston in the malls). This is an excellent place to go try out different teas (they have tons and tons of different types), so you can get spice teas, chai teas, green and white teas, herbal teas, many of which are not caffeinated. I am very addicted to teas now. I have probably 15 different kinds in cannisters at home and am constantly brewing it up. I'm not worried about getting my liquids in because I could live on tea and you can get enough diversity with the many types you can find where it doesn't ever get boring (at least for me). There's also a website called Adagio teas online.

My doctor told me not to have more than 2 glasses of tea a day. (I went to get the paper that said why, can't find it :) )

Has something to do with absorbtion of stuff I think.

The absorbtion issues are because of the caffiene in tea. If you stick with decaffienated tea or teas which are naturally caffiene free, you can drink it to your heart's desire. I'd be careful with all the herbs, though, some of them don't mix. Get a good herb reference book to see which ones work well with each other, and which ones to steer clear of.

i love tea.

i totally replaced morning coffee with tea altogether! I use honey to sweeten, but i think i might change to splenda or stevia soon.

Oh good, cause I like tea with sweet-n-low. I haven't had any since banding since the dietician was talking about not drinking it. She didn't mention if it was de-caf I could have it!

liz- I would suggest it with sweet-n-low because that's how I like my tea (even when not dieting), but my mom said she thinks sweet-n-low is an aquired taste.. she always used sweet-n-low when we were kids, so I like the taste.. and my fiance hates it. Have you ever tried it? I have yet to substitute splenda in something and actually like it.. I wanted to try stevia too, but haven't been able to find it. My doctor told me to stay away from honey, but I think that's because it would get stuck, I guess in tea it wouldn't matter.
