Suggestion: Can we have a "Stalls" subforum?

Recommended Posts

My entry is Stall Talk. That might be kind of boring though. How about Bang Your Head Here. Perhaps we should make it for slow losers too.

@@LipstickLady @@Kindle This is on you two. I came up with the suggestion (ideas person) and it is up to you guys to implement it. :D xoxox

I think Lipstick lady has come up with a winner. -- Don't sweat the small stuff. -- It explains the forum, and is somewhat positive in a chicken Soup kinda way. Not that others weren't good, but I like this one.

And maybe have a sticky post at the top titled "READ THIS FIRST". Have the post explain that stalls are normal and they happen to everybody. And include one of the good articles that scientifically explains why stalls happen.

I like that lipstick! I vote for Don't sweat the stall stuff.

Kindle - perfect idea.

What section should it be in?

Maybe Alex or a moderator can go and move all the stall posts scattered all over the place to that forum.

Scientific explanation? I'd like some of those links myself.

This is the one I was thinking of (especially for the "3 week stall"), but I'm sure there are others. I know Alex wrote one, too and I think it's in the Magazine section.

Thanks. That laid it out simply, in a way I'd never thought of.

Ok, I was looking over the subforums page. I am suggesting it be placed in General Surgery forum >Food and Nutrition > and placed right below Post-op questions and above Protein, Vitamins and supplements. What do you guys think?

Man, I hope I am ok when I get a stall but I could end up being the most prolific poster on that forum. :(

I think a good place to put it would be under the Basic for Beginners - especially because from what I seen a lot of the stall posts are in the post op forums and general discussion.

It could be :

Pre- Opp ?'s

Post- opp ?'s

What ever the name of the stalls subform is. (my vote is don't sweat the stall stuff.)

Oh wait, how about just under General Weight Loss. They have Medications, Rants and Raves, etc. under that. I didn't realize those were under the main general heading. I think Don't sweat the Stall stuff (if that is picked) would do just fine there.

Why would you want to read about stalls over and over? Use the time to get moving and do something constructive and don't obsess over your weight stalling. Actually I cannot even imagine there is anything to discuss there. It is what it is.

I agree...why would I want to dwell in an area like that?

I rather be in a more positive area....not in the middle of a bunch of complainers....

Now there's an idea....

Gather them ALL up and keep them in one forum, so I can ignore it and not constantly hear it everywhere else....

Sorry, but stalls mean nothing to me....and I've been through a few....

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
