MRhynard11 41 Posted June 26, 2014 I am 2 days post op. I just got home from the hospital. My stomach is sore, but what's really bothering me is all of this air in my body. I feel like it's sitting in my chest and stomach. It's quite painful. Did this happen with most people?
BeagleLover 1,020 Posted June 26, 2014 I've read that walking a lot really helps to dissipate the air. 2 2boysmommy and MRhynard11 reacted to this

mi75 1,235 Posted June 26, 2014 i'm 2 days post-op too! i have a lot of it too. it's mostly the laproscopic gas they use to 'inflate' your belly so they can work in there without hitting any vital parts. i have the same thing. i have terrible referred pain in my shoulder and my guts feel like they're going to blow open! i think the very worst thing is the drain. what a pain. my site around the drain is leaking serous Fluid and it doesn't hurt but i have to keep changing the dressing. walking DOES help. it just doesn't seem like we will feel any better, but in 2-3 days we will feel awesome. just try to keep moving! 2 MRhynard11 and BeagleLover reacted to this
Krispiekreme 22 Posted June 26, 2014 2days post op, stomach hurts but the only way I got the gas out was tolay on my side. I burped a lot after sipping fluids. Stomach is more muscle pain and cramp up high, but I had hiatal hernia repair too. Another thing is I am kinda hungry, maybe because of all Clear Liquids, hope hat gets easier! 2 MRhynard11 and BeagleLover reacted to this
mon_jam74 31 Posted June 26, 2014 I'm almost 3 mos post-op and will tell you that walking helps a lot! Start walking now and don't stop exercising. It will make a big difference in consistent weight loss. Also, I know I had that shoulder pain also. Once the drain was pulled out, I was much more comfortable and the shoulder pain disappeared. Weird to think that drain causes shoulder pain, I know. 2 BeagleLover and MRhynard11 reacted to this
Lifechange>40 22 Posted June 26, 2014 I'm also 2 days out. I have a lot of gas. I was going to use gasx strips but the anti-ulcer Meds say to not use any kind of antacid when taking. So just walking loops inside my house. I have only had 2-3 small spoons of broth and 2-3 spoons of sf Jello today. I just don't want it. Anyone else feel that way about eating? 1 BeagleLover reacted to this
