Hi , I totally understand what you are going through because I am three weeks out and have never throw up so many times , I know when I eat purée foods and sometimes the smallest amount does that with a choking feeling . But I think we just have to heal and learn a whole new life style in eating , congrats on your sleeve and do what works for you .

One day this throwing up will be over and you'll be able to enjoy eating. Best of luck!

My husband and I never experienced throwing up. I think we were too scared and cautious to push our sleeves to the limit. I choked on a bite of soft chicken at 5 weeks and went back on pureed 2 more weeks. Are you following he plan? Some foods just don't agree with is I guess, but we have done great. I sure hope this ends soon.

I've never felt sick or threw up. I was verycautious with following the no drinking rule and also chewing small bites very well. Moist food helped a lot too. Hope you figure it out and get to feeling better!

If you are spitting up every time you eat, you definitely need to be in touch with your surgeon. You might need better anti-nausea drugs, or more guidance on what/how to eat, or to be checked for a complication such as a stricture -- but in any event, someone who is a medical professional needs to be taking care of you, not internet strangers!

I guess I am assuming you haven't been in touch with your surgeon about this -- if you have and you haven't been helped, honestly I would try my PCP or even another surgeon for guidance.

there is a lot of great advice here. you may simply need to back off a little on your foods, amounts, or add some good anti-nausea drugs to your regimen.

i am only three days out, certainly no expert yet. be patient and hang in there. i totally agree with calling your surgeon ASAP. if you aren't holding down foods 3 weeks out, you are also at risk for malnutrition and dehydration.

good luck!

It's not every time I eat.... and I was more so on here trying to get some support since it's still early in my surgery not looking for Internet surgeons just someone who may have experienced the same thing ????

Im 7 1/2 weeks post op. I know what your talking about. I think I need to learn to eat even slower. I feel like its just going to take time. Take care.

The only times I threw up was because I ate/ drank something too fast or had too much of it. Once you get a handle on it it'll be smooth sailing!

Hmm. I vomited nearly every day for 8 months. Only just managing to keep all of my meals down in the past few weeks. Some days were good, others terrible. Some foods I definitely can't handle (chicken) and some foods my stomach simply rejects! So I tried to stick to the foods that stayed down (ground beef, ground lamb), no salad (can eat salads now), potatoes (no rice). If I don't pay attention and swallow even a mouthful too much, up it all comes again! Still, very pleased with my weight loss, have most of my hair and full of energy!

We can also get strictures. A stricture will make it hard to get things down and make you throw up. It can be fixed and generally just with a scope. Talk to your surgeon.

of you are vomiting a lot it could be a complication, or it could be that you are eating too fast, or taking too much food in with each bite. or both. or eating too much in volume. or not waiting long enough after you drink to eat.

thats why its good to talk with your doctor's office. they can advise you if you need follow up with the doc. could be an issue or could be your learning curve.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
