Dr.Chad Carlton at nick Nicholson clinic?

Recommended Posts

Dr. Nicholson did my sleeve in March of 2013. Didn't know there was another dr. on board. Ask for Dr. Nicholson, he has done thousands and is one of the best.

Good luck! You will love your sleeve!

Chubtastic - I know you have stated that you've been to Kim Bariatric and saw Dr. Kim who was out of your network, they also have Dr Holden on staff who could be in your network or check out their MBA program if your insurance doesn't cover. Dr Kim did my sleeve in 2011 and I could not be happier!!

Dr. Nicholson is my surgeon and is considered to be one of the best bariatric surgeons in the country. I don't know if you have been to Dr Nicholson's seminar or not. He has a free seminar every two weeks and it is very well attended. At my seminar he talked about selecting a surgeon and stated that your surgeon should have performed at least 1000 bariatric surgeries. I am not familiar with Dr Charlton. Did you pick him or did someone at the clinic suggest him to you? I would go with Dr Nicholson. He has the experience and his name is on the clinic. You can't go wrong with him.

I had my sleeve done with Nicholson. He is the very best and the surgery went great. As for Carlton...DONT DO IT! I had a follow-up with him and thought he was great at the time. He spent a lot of time with me and talked over everything. However, the second follow-up I had stopped losing. His first statement when he saw me "what did you do?!?!". Really?! How is that supportive? The rest of the meeting went downhill from there. I was dismissed as if everything was my fault and he didn't want to waste anymore of his time on me. Said to go see a Nutritionist. That was it. No, "hey, lets see if everything is ok with your sleeve." or "how about this....". Nothing. I have not gone back since. I was so upset afterwards. Stick with Nicholson.

I've read some great things about both Drs. Nicholson and Carlton. I'll be in Dallas for an appointment with Dr. Carlton next month.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
