Ms24 i don't get it either. I frankly didn't have rashes or anything. Spanx solved any extra skin issues really. What was gross to me was sitting on a spin bike and having my belly skin on my lap. Or doing planks or push ups and looking down at that horrible hanging skin. Also i had to wear loose pants to avoid a skin muffin top. Emotionally disturbing. ..but even after losing 150 or more... not medically necessary so i am really surprised at all the insurance coverage people are getting!

Post op day 9: (I think) ok so the last few days have been the worst for me!!! I was in soo much pain and I hadn't had a bowel movement since before my surgery! So they took out 3 of the 4 drains I had and removed my dressings. They put on my arm garments and now my arms feel more comfortable! My stomach( even swollen) looks amazing!! And my boobs look great too! Although they are very high and a bit mis shapened. My surgeon said in time they will settle into place a nut lower and after the swelling goes away they won't look misshapened. But they look like a teenager again!!! So they had me do a fleets enema and that didnt quite work so they told me to do another one, well let me tell you!!! I felt like I was ripping my ab muscles apart! It hurt soo bad I thought I was going to die!! Now 24 hrs later I'm still going to the bathroom!! I hurt so bad don't ever do 2 enemas in a row!!! You will regret it! Now I have to take Imodium to

Get it to stop ! I'm even afraid to eat!!!

Did you start taking collace or anything like it before surgery? I'm having plastics in 2 weeks and have read that it helps if you start taking stool softeners before surgery. I always have issues with pain meds.

Yes, I take colace daily because I already have issues with Constipation. But I think it happened because I wasn't drinking enough because I was in alot of pain I would take my pain meds and within a half hour I would be asleep for about 3 hours and that kept me from drinking as much as I needed to!

2week appt today: took last drain out ( yeah!!) then they decided they would pull all the tape off... Can I say painful !!! Other than that everything looks good and is healing as expected. What I can say is that my implants bother me when they swell, they gravitate all the way to my clavicle when they are swollen! And I'm starting to get little pains here and there, they say that's normal and to expect more! My incisions are healing great and after spending all day out and about I am tired and achy!!!

I had my two week appt today as well. Got my last drain out. They are going to do my tape on Thursday. I said that's going to hurt, they told me no. Now I know. I'm sure you are exhausted. I have no energy after spending the entire weekend in bed. Do you have energy yet? Glad to hear your appt was successful.

What would you recommend to purchase, to have ready prior to my surgery. So far I have made my own ice packs but the doctor said in certain areas I shouldnt apply them. Any tips? Also did anyone gain weight ? Like actually weight ,not retaining Water? One of my concerns. But I want to take it easy after the surgery. No reason to pay all that money not to feel are look good?

I'll be honest, I didn't have much pain and didn't need ice. I think I would describe it as being uncomfortable. I would have as many meals cooked ahead of time that just need to be heated. In small containers because you won't want to lift anything. Have them at eye level because you won't want to reach or bend over. Don't be afraid to ask for help!! I needed more help with this than when I delivered my twins via c-section.

Have a couple ugly snap up house coats. I still wear these around the house. The front snaps really came in handy with the drains. Have something to read and some things to watch on tv. Be ready to rest, rest, rest. Don't push yourself.

I didn't seem to gain weight. I've only lost since surgery. I've made sure that I'm drinking at least my 8 glasses of Water each day and eating clean Protein. Basically back to the basics after WLS. I feel this has been key to my success.

The drains are a pain and you just need to be patient with them. It's heaven when they are out.

Finally, be ready for a slow recovery. I'm two weeks out and I'm stir crazy. I've been so active for the last 15 months that I'm stir crazy. At the same time, I'm exhausted and continue to be surprised how much energy things take. Taking a shower, going up and down the stairs, making my kids dinner (chicken nuggets in the microwave lol). Patience is not one of my best qualities. I'm really trying. At the end of the day I look at my before and after PS pictures every day to remind myself what I used to look like. This is so worth it!! Just can't wait to get back to my life again.

Be careful. I am in a FB GROUP of plastics patients. ...The ones who have complications are often the ones who over do it early on. Rest!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
