First "STUCK" RIGHT NOW!

Recommended Posts

Having my first stuck moment right now. I've tried burping but no luck. I read awhile back about a man that said he takes a swallow of soda to get a burp to release the food. Tried it and all I got is BAD hiccups.

Wait - hiccups JUST NOW stopped and food isn't stuck in throat anymore. Anyone else experience this?

Hiccups to me is the first sign I'm about to get stuck, and I better stop.....when you get stuck, you'll know it....with the slime and all.....and in my opinion, I would NEVER drink anything carbonated to relieve it....

I do sip warm Water while standing over the toilet....that seems to speed up the process and gets it all out....

That has been my experiences, anyway....

Time is your best weapon for stuck episodes. Most all stuck episodes last only 30-60 minutes. Drinking anything only adds pressure to your esophagus and pouch and that is painful.

Just remember to slow down and chew.

Personally for myself, when I get stuck and start sliming and the pain is almost unbearable, I go to the bathroom and get rid if it. It's usually just something small I did not chew good enough.

Do you mean you PB it or what?

I've never tried the soda, I would suggest nothing or a tiny sip of warm tea or broth.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
