Has anyone had this problem?

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery May 14, 2014. Lately I feel as though I am fitting in less food than I was before, and my desire to eat is even less. Two weeks ago I feel as though my desire was greater as well as my intake. Lately I feel like I'm eating less and I'm wanting it even less. I wouldn't be too concerned with it except I feel dizzy from time to time and I'm thinking it could be low blood sugar? Has anyone else had this happen?

Your intake will always vary based on stress, activity level and other things. Just do the best you can.

Yesterday it was super humid and hot where I am..and we were moving some stuff out of storage to bring back home. Well, I tried to drink my propel zero abd it just wasn't happening. So I tried to just sip sip sip when I was able too.

I'm 8 months and it varies even now. But I sort of know when it will change now.

I am going on week 4 post op and experienceing the same issues. Over the week end it felt like I was going into a full fledged anxiety attack. Turned out is was low blood sugar. A few sips of apple juice fixed it. No hunger also went along with the symtoms. Since this low blood pressure episode my hunger has decreased. I am currenty adding more fruit to my diet. This Thursday is my 1 month check up and I have scheduled some time with the NUT. Hopefully, she will be able to enlighted me and prevent dizzyness and low sugar levels..

I just had surgery on May 30th, and had some problems with my blood pressure running a little low before, but now that I'm post-op about 3 weeks I have had a LOT of lightheadedness and dizziness from "postural hypotension" basically my blood pressure drops crazy fast when i stand up from a squat or sitting position after being still a while.

Because your dizziness could be caused by a couple different things, I would recommend talking to your doctor about it to pinpoint the cause and hence the cure. Also, I've found that as I'm ramping up the density of the food i'm eating, my hunger is going away. But i've set a schedule for myself including timers on my phone (odd i know but it works!) and I eat/consume Water and mush/food when it tells me too regardless of how I feel.

Good luck to you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
