I don't think that as a French Canadian living now in Australia I ever had grits but I was under the impression they were made out of cornmeal not wheat??? ihomeschool4 0 Posted April 26, 2007 Just so you know, my official first 'mushy' food is going to be crab. Ever since I started this thread I've been craving crabcakes. My husband's first mushy last night was crab mixed with a light mayo. He splurged and bought the real stuff and savored every bite he ate...it wasn't much, but he sure did enjoy it...something to look forward to. When do you start your mushies?
