enjoyinglife 313 Posted June 23, 2014 I only lost 5 pounds. I don't think my pre-op diet was as restrictive as it should have been. I only had to do a 5 day full liquid diet.< /p> 1 BeagleLover reacted to this
Jersrose43 837 Posted June 23, 2014 I was allowed 1 meal and as many raw veggies as I wanted. Lost total 8 pounds. Some days had gone down 14 then up then down then up. Ugh frustrating Surgery tmmw
LumpySpacePrincess 594 Posted June 23, 2014 I lost 31 pounds, but I was voluntarily on mine for about two months before surgery. My surgeon wanted me to lose 10% of my body weight before surgery and I hit that number on the head! 1 RellaBelle reacted to this
Jim1967 3,569 Posted June 23, 2014 I lost 38lbs. Doctor had asked me to lose 24lbs but since I had to do a 6 months supervised diet because of insurance I just kept doing what I could until surgery day.
JCsMamaBear 58 Posted June 23, 2014 I'm one week into my 2 week pre-op liquid diet. I've lost 7.5 lbs so far, but I will say that the first 7 came off the first two days (LOTS of water!). I'd like to lose another 5 before my surgery on 7/1, but we'll see.....
Colleen C 169 Posted June 23, 2014 I was on 2 weeks of shakes, sugar free Jello, broth. Lost 23lbs.
MRhynard11 41 Posted June 23, 2014 My surgery is tomorrow and I've been doing a pre-op diet for the last two weeks. I keep going back and forth between 6-8 lbs. lost. My surgeon never officially gave me an amount to lose. I was worried about not losing enough, but at this point, I'm not going to worry about it anymore. He didn't specifically tell me to lose a certain amount anyway.

Chelly 364 Posted June 23, 2014 From May to September which is when I had surgery I lost 40 lbs. It was more then I was required to loose. I exercised also.
gowalking 10,790 Posted June 23, 2014 It's not so much about losing weight as it is about shrinking the liver. If you are following your doctor's pre-surgery protocol, don't worry about how much weight you've lost. Good luck!
SusinMichigan 76 Posted June 23, 2014 This is my sixth day of pre-op diet. I gained 1 3/4 pounds the first two days, saw my pcp and he gave me other Water pill and potassium tablet to go with it. He is also going to run a blood test on Friday to ensure my electrolytes are in balance before Tuesday's (7/1) surgery. I have started to make my own stock (both veggie and chicken) with just adding a tip of a teaspoon of store bought bouillon for the salt content (I'm not putting in ANY salt). I'm now down 5 1/2 pounds. I'm drinking about 100 oz. of Water a day, having 2 Protein shakes (50 grams of protein) and my homemade stock. It's a lot easier than I anticipated.
