Live not far from some beautiful state parks and the Appalachian Trail. So I hope to do some longer hikes and I'd love to try kayaking.

That's a great goal :-) I want to buy clothes from regular stores , and I am so looking fwd to going places and not being the biggest person there :)

I've gotten below my goal weight. The one thing I always wanted was to NOT be the fattest person at work. The other goal I haven't had a chance to try out is flying - I've never flown and been able to put the tray table all the way down. Looking forward to that.

Besides buying clothes in a store of my choice I have always wanted to try running. Have set my sight on running a 5 k next year. Here's to making it happen!

Fit in an airplane seat. I love to travel and being 5'9" I know I'll never be truly comfortable in coach but actually fitting between the armrests would be awesome.

I've still got a long way to go but have already knocked a few things off my list. Kayaking is awesome! So much fun!

I want to be able to go kayaking! Also, I want to be in pictures with my family - I have avoided being in pictures for years because of my weight.

I'm looking forward to sewing for myself again. And since my husband is losing weight, I'll sew for him, too!

These are all great answers/ideas. Another thing I look forward to is no longer being the fattest member of my family. ( my adult kids live with us.)

That probably sounded terrible . I should add that I'm 5'1" and my grown sons are built like fullbacks, but I've weighed more than them for years.

I'm looking forward to wearing a sleeveless shirt in public and riding a roller coaster without having a mini panic attack while waiting in line while contemplating if I'll fit into the seat or not.

I'm think I'm going to start getting in more pictures. Right now, I always volunteer to take them (so I won't have to look at myself in one).

And I can't wait for the day that I can be at a pool, or beach and not be so self conscious. What a great feeling that must be!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
