I wondered if anyone carries Protein with them in the car or their purse just to ensure you don't get stuck out somewhere between meals. I started carrying these little packets of almond butter from Whole Foods with about 2 Tbsp and $1 each.

Yesterday, I was in the phone store and it took forever. I waited 30 mins after last Water and opened a packet and slowly squeezed out the almond butter. It just hit the spot and kept me functional until I got home.

What else is a good portable Protein snack?

I use a half a Quest bar - just right! Also no chocolate coating to melt in the car.

I'm on the road all day and don't get a lunch break so I have to eat "on the go" everyday. I keep mixed nuts, Protein Bars, seasoned pumpkin seeds, whole wheat sesame sticks and beef Jerky in the vehicle at all times. I used to bring the tuna salad packets that don't require refrigeration, but they were too awkward to eat while driving.

Yes i have rtd Protein shakes...i just ask for a cup of ice anywhere and drink it...i also have small ziploc snack bags with healthy Snacks and yes the beef Jerky is a hit. Im never hungry and sometime im busy or hott and notice I feel funny and realize I have not ate and those snacks help until i can eat a real protein/veggie meal

Good point, my Atkins shakes don't need to be refrigerated so I can carry some with me. I also have some pork Jerky but I'm still on soft foods and moist meats so may need to wait on nuts and jerky. My little packets of Peanut Butter and shakes are just about right for me right now.

You can bring a shaker bottle with a scoop of Protein powder in a little bag. Keep the powder in the shaker. And break in case of emergency.

You can always find Water to mix the shake.

I carry an insulated lunch bag with one of those cold packs. I keep string cheese, baby bell light cheese rounds, a Protein Bar, forks, spoons, yogurt and a premixed shake. It's great for storing your lunch if you have meats or something you want to heat up.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
