How is a discussion about whats organic n not organic off topic? Did i miss something? Did someone get mad? It would be alil silly to argue or get mad over a simple conversation.

I dont know either. The fact remains that I've developed food problems after the surgery that I never had before. Its actually a good thing to talk about different diets. We need to get in good nutrition. If we don't look at what we're eating, how much, when we need good nutrition, that's a problem.

I did look this up and came up with the following. I believe you are right in that there are no hormones, but there are a number of other items (antibiotics, etc.) that are in the meat or the conditions such that make a more likely ground for problems to enter the food supply.

You are right, I get the bird I do because its fed differently, raised in a very different atmosphere, and is doggone tasty because it gets plucked, the feet and head lopped off and given to me. I have enough problems eating without adding to it.

Anyway - you are right on the hormones, its the other things I have some reservations about also.

Thank YOU for passing that on. When you are used to seeing such a difference between these huge farm building never see the light birds and the pasture where my birds are raised, you really go

what is going on here? Both turkeys, both chickens and they do NOT look alike. I mean rabbits are rabbits but the chickens look different, act different and the eggs are QUITE different.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
