You all have so much fun in store. Shopping for clothes is like being a kid in a candy store! When I walk into a "normal" store I still think someone will tell me I am in the wrong place. It's like walking into the wrong rest room!

Dont be too sure on the clothes store deal. You have to buy tons of things new. Very expensive.

I know how you feel about the clothes. Over the years because I've been a yo-yo dieter, I literally have a bunch of clothes for every size from a size 6 to size 16. I'll be alright for a little while. From year to year, I never knew what size I'd be so I just kept all my clothes.

I can't wait to be in a photo and like what I see. I can't wait to wear clothes that don't have to cover every square inch of my fat and make me miserable in this Vegas heat. I can't wait to put my size 6 back on. I can't wait for everything!

No, expensive is figuring size 8 is what you were in college and when you got to size 8, you spent a big chunk of money on clothes.

Only to go smaller to the point that the size 8's you can't wear any more.

I can't wait to wear cute fashions & look attractive in them. I can't wait to reunite with people from my past that I have cut off because I'm so embarrassed about being obese. I might even attend a family or high school reunion. I look forward to not worrying about if something I order in a restaurant will fill me up. I look forward to not worrying about if I can get in or out of a chair or if the airplane seat belt will buckle. I stopped flying because the last time I did the seat belt barely buckled. I look forward to my knees & feet not hurting and my ankles not swelling. I look forward to renewed attention from the many admirers I will have (big monkey smile). My surgery date is July 24th & I'm pretty scared, but I look forward to becoming normal again.

Thanks for asking.

Oh don't say that! I wore a size 12 in middle school so I am figuring size 8 is "safe!" I literally just practically skipped size 10 so I treated myself and bought the most expensive pair of jeans I have ever owned yesterday to Celebrate being in single digits! I don't want to think about shrinking out of them... Ok well maybe I do... But not yet, LOL!

I was good down to size 16 and 14 but I had to start buying at 12. People at work telling me I need all new stuff since I'm wearing way too baggy. Yes it can get expensive but it is also expensive going up a size every year. Not to mention specialty stores for sizes 16 and up are way more expensive than stuff I can get at bargain prices - even name brands at SAMs club, costco, and sales at the mall. If are just starting out buy cheap for a while or swap with others in a support group cause you will fly they sizes. Safe the money for the goal weight timeframe.

It does' nt have to be expensive, I buy 90% of my clothes Goodwill. I went from a size 18 to a 10, and im very picky about my clothes. I

always get nice compliments on my outfits. Remember, because women change sizes so often , there's lots to choose from. Also, women generaly take better care of their clothes , so they stay nice looking longer. They usually are'nt as "rough" on their clothes as men and kids.

Im 2.5 years out from being banded, so ive met many of my goals already, shopping for small sizes in any store, being able to paint my own toes , ( no big tummy in the way !) , running, etc. One new thing is air travel ! The last time I flew was 3 yrs ago, 225 lbs, heavy and uncomfortable to Austin , TX. Now im flying in August to Cooperstown N.Y. , will be excited to see how much easier flying is ! Cant wait !

Fun topic and I hope you don't mind a Vet chiming in.

I have become and avid kayak-er since losing weight and my next venture is inside skydiving....and maybe just maybe some day an actual plunge from a Plane. If President Bush can do it at 90 than why not me?

My long term reward for goal that I set back in 2011 was a week at Disney World. That is now booked for December 6th through 13th of this year.

Goals and rewards are excellent motivators and you know what else? We're all worth it!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
