getnhealthyintx 281 Posted June 20, 2014 Just got back from the PCP and I now am only on half of my original dose of high blood pressure then goodbye to one diabetic medication and only half of the other. Amazing what 40 pounds lost will do. I am so excited. She said in three months give her another 25 pounds or so and maybe we can lose the other pill. 10 NYCkindofgirl, Sleeve4me!, ProudGrammy and 7 others reacted to this

BeagleLover 1,020 Posted June 20, 2014 Great news on diabetes lessening! If you don't mind telling, how long have you been diabetic? Was it well controlled? I'm hoping it goes away for good!
getnhealthyintx 281 Posted June 20, 2014 Great news on diabetes lessening! If you don't mind telling, how long have you been diabetic? Was it well controlled? I'm hoping it goes away for good! I have only been diabetic for 2 years. That's what drove me to have the surgery. It was well controlled with 1000 mg of Metformin twice a day and 100 Mg of Januvia. Now I'm on 500mg Metformin twice a day. I'm only 43. I don't want to be on all these meds. 1 BeagleLover reacted to this
BeagleLover 1,020 Posted June 20, 2014 @getnhealthyintx Glad to hear that! From the research I did, the earlier you have the surgery, the better in terms of getting rid of it completely. Four years and under is the ideal (don't remember what scientific paper it came from).
