I climbed a mountain yesterday!

Recommended Posts

I am about 10 weeks post op. Lost about 46 lbs, stalls are a very realistic part of my journey so I've quit weighing myself. I made myself a 'fitness bucket list' which were several exercise related achievements. One of them was to climb this local mountain that I've seen others climb throughout the years but have never physically felt able to.

So yesterday my BFF (who is a personal trainer ) came with me while I climbed to the top. It was so tough but I never stopped till I reached the top. What a great feeling and even better workout!!

Here's a few pics.

Way to go Tanya! That is wonderful, and such a great feeling of accomplishment-- not to mention a great view from up there. And you do look fantastic, healthy, and ready for the next mountain. Two am loving hiking since I started losing weight, and it is such a great feeling. Keep it going!

Love it! I have a fitness bucket list too! I'm celebrating by getting charms for my fitness NSV Bracelet. It's better than celebrating by eating something and it's a reminder that I can accomplish anything.

So far: Plumeria flower: Maui half marathon, charm: OKC memorial half, Ragnar logo: Ragnar Miami to key west relay, and tiara: Disney Princess half.

Lots of items left on my bucket list but I'm taking a break for plastics.

That's awesome. Love the bracelet idea. Will be making a fitness bucket list for sure.

Congrtas, great accomplishment. 10 weeks out, how are yo feeling over all. Would yo do it again? Are you able to eat out and eat with others with out feeling self concious for the small portions? Can you eat a sandwich or salad? You can swallow and drink normal now? Has anyone had a cocktail?

Thank you all. It's a hard road.

To answer your question I would recommend the surgery, now. But ask me 6 weeks ago and I would say hell no.

I am able to do everything I did pre-op.

I don't drink so I wouldn't be able to answer that question.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
