First fill help!?

Recommended Posts

So I had my first fill today! 3cc in my 10cc band! All morning I felt great! Before I left I made sure I could drink Water and it went down fine.... but now about 7 hours later I keep spitting up foam! And can't keep the water down! And not just a little foam/spit; I literally filled two empty water bottles because I had nowhere else to spit it! I'm so thirsty and just feel so much pressure, do I need to have some taken out!? Help!!

i had a fill last week felt same way lots of gas and water not going down easy... Try relaxing and drink sips no straws . If you are drinking to fast or gulping will do that .. If u still feel pressure call you doctor rite away.. Good luck

Try chewing on small ice chips. The ice slowly melts and the cold may help reduce some of the swelling and allow the melted ice Water to drip through.

It's been a rough night trying to keep Water down, ice was a little better. I'm going to try some hot tea this morning and see if that has any luck. Otherwise I'm just going to have to have them adjust my fill before the start of the weekend.

I found hot herbal tea sipped slowly helped me considerably in the early days, intermingled with sucking on small ice cubes.

If this issue continues for sure contact your Doc.

Good advice. Athletic trainers use this technique for reducing inflammation on muscle groups. They even have machines they call icy/hot machines that alternate every 15-20 minutes cold and hot Water running though hoses and wrapped around a leg or shoulder.

Well I couldn't keep anything down so I called my doctor and they had me come in immediately to remove 1cc. So I'm at 2 cc and I feel a million times better! On the bright side to all of this I'm down 3 more lbs! I guess my body wasn't ready for such a large fill.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
