sleeversue 93 Posted June 22, 2014 I've had problems with the hiccups and extra gas too and found the Extra Strength Gas X strips help a lot. I use a cpap machine and haven't found it causing any problems. 1 StayingStrong reacted to this
Kat619 2 Posted June 23, 2014 I'm so sorry to hear you are going through some rough times Kat619. It does get better. I couldn't do anything cold at first because I also had a hiatal hernia repair, but now they are my best friend! Love to chomp on them!I found broth to be soothing to the stomach also. Now that I am 4 weeks out, things are much better and I know it will get better for you too. Just hang in there. I did find at the beginning that sipping as much as I could was helpful in healing and getting my liquids in. I love Cyrstal Light Lemonade, ice, and 1/2 cup of Water mixed with strawberry Sorbet Unjury Protein Powder. Very delicious and quenches my thirst. Plus 21 gr. of protein! I also love ice, 1/2 cup of milk, and 1 scoop of Unjury chocolate Splendor. I mix it in my magic bullet and it comes out like a Wendy's Frosty. I eat it with a spoon! Works great when I am with the family and they are having ice cream. Thank you. It is so comforting to read that it gets better and that most our symptoms are similar. At least this tells me there is most likely nothing wrong. As for cold things, I can't drink really cold liquids or Popsicles, but I can chew ice. Go figure. Kat619 2 Posted June 23, 2014 I had an upper GI before I left the hospital and everything was working fine, thank God. My Dr gave me prescriptions for acid reflux and nausea meds that helped me a lot, so no more throwing up. Yesterday I was able to get down 1/2 of an Isopure without issues when a couple of days before, the smell from just opening the bottle made me want to throw up. I keep sipping sipping sipping liquids all day long so I don't get really dehydrated. Warm liquids were the first thing that went down for me too, and they still feel the best. I know I'm not getting the full amount of liquids, but every day I get in more than the day before. I hear you about the popsicles, Just opening the freezer door and seeing the boxes gives me flashbacks, lol. I hope you continue to improve. I am glad to read you are doing better and that you are no longer throwing up. Today was a bit better for me as well. I still only got in half of everything I am supposed to, but it went down easier. Thank you!!
