Abdominal Pain

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

I got sleeved on June 11th, i passed my leak test on the 12th and all was good and got discharged from the hospital.

3 days later i had pains and discomfort, my dr asked me to go back and had another leak test, but confirmed it was negative and that i was dehydrated, and they gave me saline solution via iv.

A couple of days ago i felt some sort of shooting abdominal pain, i thought it was gas and went for a 40 mins walk but nothing happened.

Since then i have been feeling the same pain with every sip!!

I take the sip, i feel it going down, and once i feel it entering my stomach, shooting pain starts developing on both sides and starts circling back until the kidneys and then disappears where this whole scenario takes probably a couple of seconds, and that is with almost every sip.

Sometimes this pain shoots without sipping but it doesn't find its way back to mu kidneys it just develops then disappears in a few minutes!!!

Any body experiencing the same? And body knows what this is? Or if i shall be concerned?

Call your surgeon for sure. Do you have a gall-bladder still? I understand that some people can develop gall-stones after the surgery.....

I do have my gall-bladder.. The most important thing is to be sure its not a leak... Do you think it might be?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
