nerms 237 Posted June 19, 2014 You get to goal, you are fit and healthy, you can do anything in the world.. What is your dream job? Mine would be to travel the world and protect/rehabilitate wildlife. I know that once I have savings and drop all my weight, I will be heading overseas to South Africa to volunteer with the Lions there. So, what would you do? What makes you happy? 4 LilMissDiva Irene, BigGirlPanties, Bandista and 1 other reacted to this
JCsMamaBear 58 Posted June 19, 2014 I have always loved to write, but I've never really believed in my abilities. Low self-esteem has really held me back. I believe once I shed this weight and deal with the emotional issues that brought me to where I am today, I have a real shot at living my dreams. I want to be a successful published author, whose books sell all over the world. Then I would have an excuse to travel...for book-signings! LOL! I LOVE to travel too. 6 countrygrl1978, BigGirlPanties, Bandista and 3 others reacted to this
SnohoGal98296 371 Posted June 19, 2014 I am lucky to say that I have the job I believe is my dream job. I too travel the world, well I have been to Europe, Asia, and North America in my 18 years of experience so far. While I would love to visit Africa and work with Lions I must admit that I am at home in a big hangar managing the retrofit of commercial airliners! What I look forward to is air travel without seat belt extenders or possibly rude seat mates who think a fat person is a curse on them, being in Asia without being the gigantic American woman, being able to shop in regular sized stores anywhere - not just Lane Bryant or American department stores, feeling like I can stand on my feet or walk for more than 15-20 minutes without foot/back/leg pain, be able to drive something smaller than an SUV without feeling like I am stuffing myself into a sausage, not being this close to having to order a seat belt extender for my husbands car, I could go on and on.... But all that said - I am totally supportive of anyone who has a dream to change their job/environment after weight loss, lets here those plans! 6 labwalker, BigGirlPanties, BladeFox and 3 others reacted to this

Writing is fun, a creative way to escape.. if you don't get big time with the writing (WHICH YOU SO COULD) it's still a great hobby! Rena's got this 274 Posted June 19, 2014 I would actually love to work at a resort like Six Flags or Disney world. Just to be in a beautiful environment where everyone is having a good time would be like heaven. It doesn't really matter what I do there....could be a tour guide, a landscaper, even running an ice cream stand. It would all be good! 4 VSGAnn2014, LilMissDiva Irene, Bandista and 1 other reacted to this

InfiniteButterfly 438 Posted June 19, 2014 I've always been interested in art, and I've been mildly successful freelancing (designing book covers, tattoos, etc), but I want to go farther. Comics, children's books...and I went back to school a month before my surgery to work toward achieving this goal. I am entirely self-taught, and I know I'm limited because of this, so I'm focused on learning to be more than I am artistically. Plus, with my focus on schooling, I don't even think about food. I was worried that I would have cravings and pillage the kitchen when I'm home alone, but I never bother going in there unless I need more Water =P It's nice to focus on something other than my next meal. 4 Bandista, VSGAnn2014, BigGirlPanties and 1 other reacted to this

Bandista 7,466 Posted June 20, 2014 It's funny, just today I was sitting briefly in the garden with a friend and I was saying how much I long for reinvention yet often feel it's not happening or loo late, etc. This is one of the few friends who know about my surgery and I reminded her (and myself!) that last November I gave myself a year to just do this. This being the weight loss, the return to myself, the investment in my healthy future. That said, I know something else is ahead -- I'm a writer also and I don't want to be in the field where I currently work. I'm going to be 53, I have a wonderful life but the career aspect leaves something to be desired. I make art, too, and signed up for a five-day workshop in October. That will be quite a present to myself. I think that creating visual art will help open up new possibilities in my life. And then there's the garden. Here's to summer! 4 VSGAnn2014, BigGirlPanties, dylanmiles23 and 1 other reacted to this

Love reading all these. Years ago , I am almost 63, I wanted to do stand up comedy. I use to own a custom furniture factory with my husband and after 9/11 we lost the business we had for over 26 years and I miss that. I liked helping with colors, materials etc. I miss that a lot. I also miss my wonderful life we lived. If you're young enough follow your dreams. When my sons lived home I let them try all sorts of jobs. Now they both own their own businesses 5 nerms, Sparklingbeauty53, Bandista and 2 others reacted to this
