Love using MFP to track what I'm eating but am still a bit confused as to how to set my daily goal values. The doctor wants me to have 30 grams of carbs (or less) so I set that number at 15% and MFP set my daily calories to 800. Then I get a message that I'm eating too few calories.

How are your numbers set? Or do you just ignore the message and number of calories?

not sure where you are at...but my nutritionist wants me to eat 1200 calories a day, but I suppose that varies with providers...but to make changes here is what you do:

1. go to goals

2. change goals

3. change to custom

4. you can change anything you want to there

Hope that is what you are looking for...best wishes to ya darlin'!

Mine tells me the same thing everyday. I eat anywhere from 900-1000 calories a day as per orders. So I just ignore that when it comes up. Best of luck to you.

I have been using the app called "Lose it" which seems to better integrate with Apple Health Kit. Apple health is a database that is included with IOS, apple's built in software. The advantage of Apple Health integration is that the apple watch and other step and exercise data are automatically fed into the app. Plus any other app that queries the Apple Health Kit database can pull up your nutrition intake that you have entered into Loose It. This app has a bar code scanner and has a huge database of products. Really easy to log food intake, set weight goals and monitor calorie consumption and burn levels.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
