Those are great NSV's to look forward to. I'm still amazed when I get up and down from the floor under my own power! B)

Pre-suregery, I always had to have a chair or desk nearby to pull myself up. Next NSV... putting the tray table all the way down in the airplane! :D

I love this post. Here are some little things I want to do:

Ride my bike to work without having to walk up the (pretty small) hills.

Get on the floor to play with my grandchildren without pains in my back, knees and hips.

Go shopping in the regular size section of a fashionable store, find something cute and then buy it because it fits.

Go to Disneyland and be able to ride on the rides without embarrassment.

Wear a bathing suit in public.

I marveled today when I slipped into a size L slim fitting tank top for my lunch time cardio (followed by a strength class tonight). I looked like every other person in that locker room. Wearing athletic clothing, who woulda thought? Working out twice in one day, is this really me?!

Buying clothing styles previously way off limits is fun!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
