ready4changein2011 70 Posted June 19, 2014 I was told that I had 7.5 cc's in my band at true result Houston, not that they ever pulled it all out. My daughter is scheduled to be banded 6/27/14 by my physician, so he asks how I was doing and of course I told him that I had not lost any weight in over a year. I also started to gain weight recently, come to find out, he said that I'm not properly adjusted and that I only had 4.5 cc's in my band so he added 1cc that was too tight so he removed 0.5 cc's now I'm at 5cc and doing okay. The point is my doc says that if your are hungry before 1 pm than you are not adjusted correctly. The be in the green zone you should have not hunger under 1pm or after. Who would have known? hopefully the weight starts to fall off again. Also, he says if I have any issues have them contact him directly and that makes me feel so much better knowing he will be looking over me even though I'm 2 years out. 1 Mikee57 reacted to this
HealthyNewMe 1,935 Posted June 19, 2014 Well, I'm not hungry until after 1:00PM, but I thought that was bc I am a two cup morning coffee drinker (which alwaiys acts like an appetitie suppressant to me), and I have never been a Breakfast eater..... That's interesting, but I have never heard that before. Best wishes! 3 dlamp112, Mikee57 and parisshel reacted to this
B-52 7,113 Posted June 19, 2014 Never heard that as a rule....I have not had anything except a high Protein smoothie every morning since being banded,,,, It's not about hunger, it;s that my band is always the tightest in the morning and gets easier to eat as the day goes along...so yes, I don't eat until around 12-1pm...but it's not about hunger... 1 Mikee57 reacted to this
betty_s 476 Posted June 19, 2014 Hmmm.. weird. I have 4.4cc's and i'm hungry in the morning. But 1 egg, sometimes a lil smokey or some crumbled sausage usually keep me until about 12-12:30 (thats eating around 8ish) I feel like I have a pretty good restriction already. I've always been hungry in the morning tho? 1 Mikee57 reacted to this
tomdelo 120 Posted June 19, 2014 Along the same topic.. I went 4 years between fills and was told I had 7c put in , then when I went back to new doctor I was told that 4 cc were in there... Where did the other cc go to ???? I now have 6 cc in there and feeling great and back on track.... 1 Mikee57 reacted to this
Bandista 7,466 Posted June 19, 2014 My surgeon doesn't share the amount of the fills so I have no idea how much is in my band. He doesn't want me obsessing and I guess it's kind of a meaningless number as fill needs change, we are all different, etc. I don't eat Breakfast in the morning -- let's see, it's about 12:30 now and I'll probably be eating at 1:00. Hmmmm.......interesting! My rule is to not to eat if I'm not hungry but definitely to eat if I am hungry. 2 Mikee57 and parisshel reacted to this
Mikee57 699 Posted June 19, 2014 not even close-to not feeling hungry...so I eat whenever I can...hoping this time 4 cc will help me a little bit more. 1 Bandista reacted to this
Lady VS 1,147 Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) Interesting, I was banded at TrueResults Houston as well. Dr. Hollis never mentioned that to me and he and Dr. Reilly are colleagues. He did say if your not hungry don't eat, and I don't. But if you are hungry, eat and I do. Never heard about not eating prior to 1 p.m. Again, interesting. I have 7 ccs in my 10 cc band. Had my last fill in August of last year. Edited June 19, 2014 by Lady VS 1 Bandista reacted to this
SandyM 1,956 Posted June 21, 2014 Very interesting. Shows the difference in surgeons. Mine says don't skip breakfast or other meals so as to keep insulin levels balanced 3 parisshel, Bandista and Mikee57 reacted to this
JustWatchMe 7,117 Posted June 21, 2014 I really don't get hungry until lunchtime either. I'm at 7 cc in a 14 cc band and 13 weeks out. 2 Mikee57 and Bandista reacted to this

parisshel 1,892 Posted June 23, 2014 @Bandzie08: Do you have an idea of when you can get refilled? I totally understand that feeling of not being able to control the food intake. Remember, a bandster with a band that is not at optimal fill level is just a dieter...trying to be in control with limited (and sometimes no) results. I had an emergency unfill and stayed unfilled for three months. It was just like being unbanded and it wasn't pretty. My goal was to maintain my 60 pound loss for the three month period and to do that, I had to diet. That said, at the end of the three months my willpower was diminishing and my old eating behaviors were gaining traction. I ended the three months with a five pound gain. Just got my fill level back to my sweet spot a week ago and it has made all the difference in the world. Instantly my cravings and urge to eat were eliminated. If you can find out how long your unfill is, that might be helpful. If it is "only" a few weeks, you can make it through that time just dieting. Pick one of the diets you were on before WLS and stick to that. (I did Weight Watchers, but without the white carbs.) If the unfill is scheduled to last longer, I might add more artillery to the diet alone--maybe group support, checking in here on the forum for support, up your exercise, chew gum, drink lots of Water...all the stuff we used to do when we were dieting without the band. I know first hand how hard it is to go from being banded and having success (you've lost a lot!) to having to go at this alone. I wish you all the best and hope you will be refilled soon. 1 Bandista reacted to this
