lylabelle 257 Posted June 18, 2014 We are beginning week 4! Many of you have continued onto soft food, some of us are in puree land. How is everyone's incisions feeling? Most of mine are healed, however I have my biggest one not wanting to heal up and it still has a warm to the touch scab. Otherwise I'm quite pleased with how the others look. Better than when I had my gallbladder out! I need to start working on supplements, I haven't really been doing that yet. I need to go through my paperwork and figure all that out. I keep forgetting to take the PPI granules in the morning. I don't have issues with acid so I seem to forget about it, but I know our sleeves are more sensitive to ulcers so I must remember tomorrow!! Here is our group tally! @jajmj (-13) @devint (-21) @Sh3iz (-16.5) @Nicci829 (-15) @Speeder (-10) @lylabelle (-17) @hrhlaurie (-16) @SingleMom33 (-16) @WhoKnows (-13) @@sleevin' it in Jersey (-13) @barbbcute (-17) @tiredtwinmommy (-15.5) @mrsfitzpatrick (-25) @Monte0828 (-19) @cnilson (-23) @SliminDownThick (-18) @20130527sleever (-17) If you did not give us your Monday weight I can add it in here. hrhlaurie 185 Posted June 18, 2014 It took me three days, and 5 meals, to get through one grilled chicken and veggie kabob and that included sharing with the dog! I think I'm a little tired of chicken now... 2 SherB and DarbiMolly reacted to this

Now I can't even stand the smell. Same goes for any Pasta. 2 DonnaM75 and DarbiMolly reacted to this

Same goes for any Pasta.< /p> Yes I find it really hard at recess at school. Other teachers are having coffee and im struggling! Found out why im having so much trouble I had a phone call from surgeon tonight. He said I had some sort of bacteria in my stomach which is aggrevating my heartburn and the ability to keep food down. So I will start medication tomorrow after going back into town. Looking forward to feeling better.

Same goes for any Pasta.< /p> Sorry forgot to say I haven't tried pasta yet! Spaghetti bolanaise is one of favorites so I hope that doesn't change to. Funny how things are changing. Went back to work this week. It's so exhausting. Need to get energy levels up I have school camp next week!
jajmj 40 Posted June 18, 2014 Lylabelle - look into Bariatric Fusion Vitamins from bariatricchoice.com. We were given a comparison chart of all the Vitamin types and what they have - these have the most and I only have to chew 4 a day and no other vitamins!! JCsMamaBear 58 Posted June 18, 2014 Just an FYI regarding change in taste buds, I asked my nut about it and she said it can be caused by a zinc deficiency, so you might want to have your levels checked out. 2 DonnaM75 and DarbiMolly reacted to this
lylabelle 257 Posted June 18, 2014 Habsi its week 4 for the group. I'm on the 30th but I still weigh on Mondays. In a month or so a few days difference from surgery won't matter :-) I'll check out those Vitamins. I got gummies but for now I want to stay super low sugar to try to keep losing and stay in ketosis. 1 SliminDownThick reacted to this
habsi 25 Posted June 18, 2014 Good point !! Hahahahah I will weigh tomorrow morning Am feeling sad I'm hardly eating but not losing ... I don't understand how that's physically impossible when I'm eating so little
devint 162 Posted June 18, 2014 I use Bariactiv Vitamins, they are chewable/dissolvable. My stall is starting. I keep remembering though that I could and did drop lbs quickly before, it's the Long Term I'm excited for. Marathon not a sprint! Yesterday I actually got in 1200 cals, by having too much hummus so rich. I also hit my highest step count since surgery at 7k (crazy low for normal ppl) My Water intake is dipping a little so that is priority again for the next few days. Is anyone else dry brushing and moisturizing like a crazy person for loose skin obsession?
devint 162 Posted June 18, 2014 Forgot to mention, I got prescribed prontix for heartburn and it nipped it the first day. Thank goodness. I had never really battled heartburn before but it felt awful and I don't know how people can live with it as a daily thing. I am so glad I mentioned something to my doctor about it. Bob, my skin is really dry on my stomach around my incisions, to the point of flaking. I've been moisturizing with firming lotion, firming body wash and straight baby oil morning and night and that seems to help without overly irritating the actual scars themselves. And that also ties into the fact i'm not staying hydrated enough too. Sip sip sipping away now! 1 DonnaM75 reacted to this
WhoKnows 288 Posted June 18, 2014 @@devint I'm dry brushing as well. I dry brush pretty hard before I shower (so about every other day) and I moisturize every day. I had some difficulty here finding a firming lotion though. No one I spoke to in the German stores had any clue what that was, so I took something for pregnant women instead. I figured it's a similar principle? I mix it with an oil I got from Kiels (I forget which one) and almond oil. I'm thinking of switching the lotion to the coco butter lotion from the Body Shop though and mixing that with the oils instead. The lotion I got at the pharmacy was really expensive. I wouldn't mind the price if I knew it had the things I need, like elastin and Vitamin e, but, like I said, no one was very helpful in that respect. I'm also trying to make sure I get in all my Vitamins and good fats. I'm fine on Omega 3s, but I need some Omega 6s.
devint 162 Posted June 18, 2014 CeraVe w salicylic acid is what I've been using once a day and then Avon Skin so Soft Firming (no elastin, but tons of oils and topical caffeine) about twice a day. And yes my omega's are something I haven't supplemented so I KNOW i'm not doing well there. I haven't seen them in a chewable so i might wait another week before getting the pills. They are so nauseating to me normally because of the fishiness.
