It was a really simple procedure, I was fitted with an IV and gowned next thing I know I was walked through to the surgery room. They set you up, Make you put this mouth piece in, take deep breaths and you're OUT!...Honestly, Best Nap ever..

I think I was under for a whole 30-40min that was it!

My husband came in with our daughter around 12:30 and tried convincing me I had been in a coma for 6 years LOL. He thinks he's funny/clever...

Your husband does sound funny! That was pretty much the same procedure for me. My BP was up at first, I think I was more nervous than I expected to be, but a lot of the people who were near me were actually patients of my Surg as well so I had someone to talk to for a couple minutes after I woke up. :)

That nap was great I wanted to take some home with me.

Does everyone get one?? There's been no mention of that to me and I'm 16 days away

Everyone does not get one. I had to get one and others have for different reasons, but they are definitely not required for all patients.

No they didn't give me anything for it.

I'm assuming it was my own doing really, I ate hot wings the night before lol.

lol I had a similar conversation with my surgeon. He came into the recovery area to show me the pictures he took and said, "Everything looked good. You have a little gastritis (inflammation) in a couple spots but it won't affect anything." I said, "Well that makes sense, I had Taco Casa for dinner last night." He said, "Yep, that's it!" and left. haha

I have mine scheduled for July 1st. I am really nervous they asked me a bunch of questions like I was gonna die. Apparently I have to pick up a secret beige phone when I get there to tell them I'm ready for surgery lol

Just had mine this morning. I also had a colonoscopy done at the same time. I was having having anemia problems and my gastro doctor ordered both. My surgeon requires the EGD so instead of having it done twice in less than 2 weeks, he will accept my gastro's report. The EGD is nothing to worry about. You don't feel anything while they are doing it. When I woke up I had a little cough that was gone in less than an hour. They asked my tons of questions about my past medical history before hand. It only took about 45 mins for both tests.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
