Arm lift / brachioplasty

Recommended Posts

If I get plastics this is my first choice. If nothing else the arms please. Everything else can be covered up. Even my 14 year old says I should get it done because I am working out so hard and my poor arms can't show it. Love that kid.

I paid around 16,000 for arms, breast lift and implants, lower body lift and small thigh lift. I LOVE my results. I was so scared of the scars on the arms but I am not bothered at all. I LOVE my arms and get alot of compliments. It changed my profile even in long sleeves.

I had multiple procedures at once (so more restrictions) and followed doctors orders exactly. I didn't drive for 3 weeks post op, I wore compression garments, my arm drains came out a few days post op, but my lower body lift drains stayed in longer. Drains are your friend, help keep swelling down so dont fear them. I needed help with the compression garments and the drains - tricky - but, I had many procedures at once so had a lot going on.

Jane do you have any up to date pictures of your arms and legs?

Compression bra with sleeves I used and yes I would recommend them - I wore it for 6 weeks I had drains for 2 days - That's it - In UK you don't seem to have drains for ages, and I have had no ill effects from this. No massive swelling or anything. You are no allowed to drive until Dr says so - Was about two weeks I think.... All will go well :-) Just remember - Paper tape is your friend, it holds the scars flat whilst healing. Don't overdo things, no matter how great you feel... Keep wearing your compression garments - I always felt like they were protection for me - Like my shield against all ills. And finally - I reiterate the old words said to me ''Keep your eyes on the prize'' Knowing that getting through those few post surgery weeks is just a transition to the new YOU - Helps your mindset and in a matter of a week or two you will just be amazed at the new you!

Will any paper tape work? I need to buy some and try it out. I've had reactions to adhesives in the past. Definitely don't want my incisions to get rashes on them.

When I kept my paper tape on for 10 weeks my scars were so much better (You remove the tape every time you shower etc and put more tape on - The tape I found best was called Micropore, I tried lesser brands and those did not work as well, and the scar on my left leg (drugstore paper tape) is not as great as the scar on my right leg (micropore tape) why I tested this on myself I don't know - But my scars show me which tape was best LOL

this was taken a few days ago. Not a very good photo and I will put together a collage someday..haha. Anyway, I used to weigh 332# (lifetime high) and my presleeve weight was 308 and this photo is me in a swimsuit from the juniors section at the store. My thighs are still jiggly because I did not get the "long" thigh lift which would have given me tight thighs that don't touch. I am okay with my results though - easier healing and no long scar. Not bad for 50 is how I view it.

CGJANE, Wow! You really look great!! I know you are, and should be very proud of your body. You have accomplished so much! Anyway, I think nature wants our thighs to be curvy.

You look Super!

The legs look fine to me also. I'm looking at the same procedures that you have had in about 12mths. I'm sure I will go with the same as you for the legs because I don't want the long scars. When you have time I would be interested in seeing photo's of the scars you have on your arms to see if that is what I am expecting. With the legs did they cut around or just partially down?

My legs have only a groin incision. I can't wear a string bikini but they are covered by most panties and the swimsuit I just posted above.

I just took this scar close up...8 months post op. My scars are flat but still have red sections. Nobody ever notices them though.

Thanks so much! I'm going to try some out before surgery.

Did you use silicone sheets at all? I've been reading that some people say they work and others don't.

No I didn't use those sheets - All my PS told me about was to moisturize alot and massage the scars - But on here and trawling the net I found that to keep the tapes on flattens the scar (stops it stretching like one of mine has a little bit) and even 4yrs down the line I am still moisturizing the arm scars as they sometimes feel dry and kinda itchy so morning and night it is my regime... Just basic E45 type stuff (I use a substance called diprobase which is like a more Fluid E45 and helps to massage it in)

Gee that is fantastic so I'm pretty convinced I will go with the same. Thanks for sharing

Thanks to everyone for all the great information and the pics....the saying "a pic is worth a thousand words" definitely applies here. CGJ...you can hardly even see your arm scars...WOW after 8 months. I'm sold and will be getting that done at the first possible moment.

Thanks everyone for all the info. You all look so amazing. I've always been scared of having the large scar on my arms, but you all have put me at ease. I'm starting to look at doctors for the arm lift and breast augmentation. Any suggestion on looking for a surgeon and what kind of questions to ask??

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
