The Calcium inhibits the Iron absorption. You shouldn't take the Iron within 3 hours of the calcium in order to allow for complete absorption. Hope this helps! :)

Wow, we are all over the place. I was told 2 hours by my surgeon's office but heck, I try to take my Iron in the middle of the day and my two Calcium supplements early morning and late evening spacing them out as much as possible just to be safe :)

Btw when did you have your surgery? Mine was March 12th and I just had my 3 month follow up last week.

My DS nutrit. states that as well. No food, drink (Water is OK), or pills for 1 hour before and after. That's how I've been doing it for 9 years+.

My nut one hour either before or after?
