Mommabird 367 Posted June 17, 2014 I am very early in this weight loss surgery process. I'm going to have my first weigh-in on Thursday after being on a required weight loss plan for the past month. Needless to say, I'm hungry! This afternoon, I needed to go to the CVS drug store that's about four miles from my house. Remember that I said I was hungry? This is a list of what I had to pass on my way to CVS: 2 fast food taco places, 5 hamburger places, 4 pizza ones, 3 Mexican restaurants, 2 donut shops, 2 Subway sandwich places, a deli restaurant, 2 Chinese restaurants (one a buffet), a steak house, a sports grill, a fried chicken place, an Italian restaurant, a Starbucks, A BBQ place and a wine bar. Behind the CVS, there is another pizza place and another Mexican restaurant. And I had to go past them all again to get home. This is just ONE street!!! It's no wonder I'm in the shape I'm in!! However, I will say that I didn't stop at any of them. I came home and had a Protein shake and a forth cup of almonds. But I really, REALLY want a Whataburger! 15 BigGirlPanties, BeagleLover, kat6745 and 12 others reacted to this
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted June 17, 2014 My problem isn't getting to the CVS . . . it's walking past the giant display of every imaginable kind of candy bar that they have right by the entrance, at least they do at my local CVS. So tempting! 1 Susysleever reacted to this
Mommabird 367 Posted June 17, 2014 I just walked very quickly past all the goodies. Kept my eyes averted, never made eye contact. I could still hear all the chocolate calling my name...I pretended to be deaf. : ) 6 BigGirlPanties, SherB, Forsythia and 3 others reacted to this

Beach Lover 1,084 Posted June 17, 2014 I remember what this was like! I was about 6 weeks post op and traveled 1500 miles and was driven crazy by every food billboard and restaurant across this country! It drove me almost insane...................The good news this will pass and eventually they won't even bother you. Hang in there! 6 Mrs. Ski, VSGAnn2014, BeagleLover and 3 others reacted to this
SherB 220 Posted June 17, 2014 In the same plaza as my HEALTH CLUB there is an In and Out burger, Chili's, Chipolte, Subway, New York pizza Authority, Streets of NY, Village Inn, Paradise Bakery, Cold Stone Ice cream, Bosa donuts, Rubios, Del Taco, Jamba juice, another pizza place and a McDonald's in Walmart. Talk about temptation. Geesh.. Walking out of the health club is torture. =) 5 JCsMamaBear, Writerjennifer, Mommabird and 2 others reacted to this
Chelly 364 Posted June 17, 2014 In my health club they have vending machines with junk in there. Thank goodness it's not on the side of the building that I exercise in. I think it's terrible that they have it. I would never touch the stuff anyways because I always go to the gym on a full stomach and with plenty of Water.< /p> 2 BeagleLover and ProudGrammy reacted to this
Brightfuture058 26 Posted June 17, 2014 This is all so very true, food is in our face daily, I found it very hard not to crave the "easy to get" fast food. But in time it go easier. I now find myself grossing out with the smell of grease and fast food. Which I feel is a plus.... No Temptation ) 5 NYCkindofgirl, Writerjennifer, BeagleLover and 2 others reacted to this

It's bad enough to have an ice cream store next to a Baskin Robin's. But when the Gym has vending machines with junk... they could at least sell marginally healthy Snacks lie granola bars and Protein drinks or the tuna and cracker packets. My work has a vending machine. I've been there over 2 years and I think I only bought something twice due to a real craving. But usually I go, look at the junk, and walk away. Apryl1957 9 Posted June 17, 2014 That is a great accomplishment. See, you were able to drive by all of them (twice) and had the will power to not stop. I have discovered that my eyes are hungry and if I distract them I do ok. Keep up the good work Connie
