When Did it get more comfortable eating

Recommended Posts

I am 7 weeks post op and when I eat I can feel the food hit my stomach and it feels a little twinge of pain and uncomfortable. When does that and weakness get better?

I never really had pain when eating. Was eager to move onto the new eating steps. The weakness was over about 3 weeks post op. I had a rougher recovery than most also, but I was be-bopping around by 3 weeks.

Good luck!

I never had the pain when eating. I had pain when I'd be sleeping. It totally went away after a month or two. I wouldn't worry about it unless it persists or if you're really worried call the surgeon's office. Best of luck!

I had uncomfortable feeling but not pain... till i was about 2 months out... i found that i wasnt chewing my food enough...

Tiredness... umm yeah that was the first 2 months, i was tired all the time... but i found that if i took my B12 at dinner this helped with me being tired during the day... Hope your feeling great in no time :)

Never had pain but had slight discomfort if I didn't chew enough or ate too fast.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
