Just wondering if you have PCOS and you have had RNY did you notice a slower weight loss then others that had it in the same month as you? I know we all want it gone faster than we should but I notice I am slower. Partly because I did not have a prior diet requirement pre-op but I am wondering if the pcos might be the culprit too?

I don't have pcos and have had the bypass yet but losing 41lbs in less than 4 months seems like Amazing accomplishment! Keep up the good work!

It was suspected that I had pcos but not confirmed. My weight loss has been about on par with others who had surgery at the same time as me and had a similar starting weight.

I have PCOS and sometimes when I look at everyones weight loss I feel behind. I had my surgery Feb 3,2014. When I look at how much I've lost I feel like I've lost plenty and I'm still losing.

Thank you Auri, I appreciate that. I am amazed at my weight loss. I truly am. It just seems low in comparison to others who had surgery the same month as me but believe me, I'll take it!!!!!!!!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
