I wanted to ask a few questions because I have a funny problem.

Maybe it's a good thing. I love food! But when I eat with others, in public, I don't eat a lot. I am too self conscious, I eat like a bird. But at home...or by myself... I eat like I would never eat in front of others. Is this a good thing because it shows SOME control? Or is this a dangerous thing bc it shows bad habits? Does anyone else do this???

I do the same thing when I'm with people that I'm not that comfortable with.

When I don't eat enough during the day I tend to eat more at home.

It started from anxiety, I wouldn't eat all day and then I'd binge at home and that's part of how the weight kept piling on.

If you still have control at home and you're not overeating then it's a good thing I guess!

MissL I don't seem to have that issue...but I use my Eat Slow app on my cellphone when I eat out and at home...so I eat about the same way both places. I am sure though what your explaining here is normal...but I would try to eat the same both places...slowing down and watching portions...you got this I just know it!!!

I do the same thing and am currently trying to change it. I'm trying to pretend I'm always eating in front of others so I eat like a bird more often LOL.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
