kristenleigh435 10 Posted June 17, 2014 Tomorrow June 17th marks the one year mark of my surgery date. I started out wonderfully and have not done so well in the last 6 months. I have lost a total of 87.25 inches and 116 pounds from June 17, 2013 but it has been 136 pounds since I first started this journey with the preop diet etc. I feel wonderful. A lot more energy and I do more than ever, especially with my daughter. I just feel depressed that I am stalling out the last 6 months. I have a hard time doing what I should (exercise, getting enough Protein and Water, etc) I did so well at the beginning. I think part of it is that at my 9 month appointment I saw the physicians assistant and she told me that I was probably done losing weight. It really upset me and I kinda gave up after that. I am going to the doctor tomorrow for my one year check up. I am determined to get back on track. 1 InspirationMySon reacted to this
carolk36 142 Posted June 17, 2014 Congratulations on your awesome weight loss! Don't let one person's comment decide your fate; you are the heroine in this story. Remember all the reasons that made you start this journey and focus on them. Go back to the basics. You can do it! Good luck! Carol Tomorrow June 17th marks the one year mark of my surgery date. Baconville 578 Posted June 17, 2014 You do not need to be done losing! That was a really unfortunate thing to say to you!! I will Celebrate one year on June 25th and I am still losing, not as fast, but the scale continues to drop. I really don't have much more to lose at this point, which I think is why I have slowed down. Still I really want another 5 pounds. Hopefully, your NUT will give you better advise on how to get back on track. It is not easy, it is not magic. I follow my plan and exercise every day. But the tool we received a year ago really does work to help us keep the weight off. Nothing has changed. Find your MOJO and go get it!! Carol
kat77 63 Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) My first four months were so slow that I was questioning if I had made the right decision, but I just kept sticking the the high Protein, low carb, and lots of Water and now have lost all of my weight. Our bodies are all different and that was a very mean and unproductive thing to say to you. I don't know what kind of diet your Dr has you on, but for me, the high Protein , low carb really helped me. You only have to stop losing, when YOU decide or when the doc says you are at a healthy weight. Mine wants me to stop and I still feel I have more to lose....its a struggle but its so worth it. I'm sorry she said those hurtful words, just know its rubbish because I didn't even start losing well till month 4 and am still losing at month 16..... You can do it! Kat PS....happy 12 month!
