I wouldn't worry, this is just a stall. I went through some weeks with zero loss, only to turn around and have great results the following week. Keep doing what you know to do, i.e. stay active and eat smart...the lbs. will drop.

By the way, 42 lbs. in 53 days is phenomenal! Give yourself a little credit! :D

Good luck!

I don't think your doing anything wrong 42lbs is a lot and you should be proud, just keep following your drs plan and try not to worry about to much about the scale, focus on how your clothes fit looser and how much more energy you have.

That's more than 20 lbs a month. As my nutritionist said to me when I brought up the same concern....when was the last time you were able to lose X lbs in a month. Yup...my response was never. Put it all in perspective for me. You are doing fabulous - I hope I can do as well as you at the two month mark

I am right there with you. Sleeved April 14th and thought the fat would just fly off my bones. Weighed 251 the day of surgery and 223 today. I am pretty strick with myself. 800-1000 caloried a day. 1 Protein shake for Breakfast - cottage cheese for lunch and grilled chicken and veges for dinner. I usually have low fat cheese as a snack in the evening. I also like cucumbers for some reason. I wish they could really figure out what causes some people to lose quickly and some to lose slowly. I also have hypothyroidism and take .2mcg replacement a day. I'm sure that doesn't help.

You guys are doing way better than I am.was sleeved 4/15..starting weight day of surgery 242lbs. .As of today. .down only 17 lbs. .so I'm losing extremely slow. Have hypothyroidism. .tired of stressing about the slow weight lost. I guess it will come off when it's ready. Body is holding on to every fat..especially since eating low calories. .keeping fingers crossed. That the surgery will work.

hang in there re14768!!

The surgery has to work. The math is there. Calories in - calories out = weight loss !!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
