BigGirl2014 2 Posted June 16, 2014 Hi all. I am about 3 weeks post- op and doing ok in that regard. I was still having a lot of pain, though, so last week my gastro doc ordered a CT scan. It revealed some anomalies like a large ascities next to my liver. My gastro doc compared the scan to the one I had in Jan., well before the surgery, and said it was there then too. So I called the surgeon who did my gastric bypass and was basically told that it had nothing to do with the bypass so they weren't going to deal with it. If my gastro guy was concerned, HE should order a needle biopsy. Is that a big brush off or what? Anyway, I did some calling around and it looks like I will be going to the mayo clinic in Jacksonville, Florida next week. Has anyone been there? Or to a Mayo facility? I am scared & don't know what to expect. Any input, good or bad, is welcome!
Sparklingbeauty53 202 Posted June 19, 2014 I have heard good things about the mayo clinic and you are doing the right thing. You don't need one doctor switching responsibility to the other doctor, playing games with your life. Get a new set of eyes to look at it and help you. colorfulperson 14 Posted December 30, 2014 The mayo clinic here in Jacksonville can be slow at times. Just a heads up, be patient. But other than that it's a great facility. I used to have patients who went there (I worked in a pharmacy )
