The definition of Irony...

Recommended Posts

Being given 202 lbs of grain fed free-range freezer beef one week after VSG.

I own a farm and the farmer I lease the cropland to gives me a 1/4 beef every June. It is the best tasting, cut-with-a-spoon-tender, out of this world beef you've ever eaten. My favorite food is steak and there are pounds and pounds of it to pick up Wednesday.

Irony...you can kiss my ***.

Me too. I was eating steak at one month. Grass fed is the best, so I hear.

My doctor didn't allow steak until 12 months out. Slab meat was the last thing to be added back in the post-op diet progression. Now, I will have steak once in a blue moon, but all the chewing gets arduous. The first few bites are fabulous! But as much as I used to love steak, I don't gravitate to it anymore.

at least you have a freezer...and it's not homemade ice cream or something like that! :) ... that's a sweet deal you've got there... I love BEEF...you will enjoy it soon enough!

It may not seem lucky right now but it is. Tender beef is the name of the game! I can't do chicken very well and tender beef I can. My doctor prefers a 6 months wait for beef but changed it since I have had chicken issues.

I eat steak, no problems at all. I started eating steak when I was able to move up from soft foods. In fact, my meals consist mostly of meat. Sometimes when I'm not so hungry, I'll drink a Premier Protein chocolate drink, but I prefer to get my Protein directly from the source.

I envy you!!!

We raise grass-fed beef, and have multiple freezers FULL of the stuff. It's AWESOME, and I fully intend to enjoy it again (someday)! It truly is so much more tender than commercial beef, IMO. :)

I was also able to start beef at week 4 and I've eaten hamburger meat and some thin-strip steak without any problems. I do put chili on it or maybe dip in fat free mayo if needed to make it a little more moist to get down easily.

I'm thinking of steak now.... yum...

I had a steak taco last night. In fact if ever there is a chance to have steak I will eat it. Once I was back on the general diet there were no restrictions on beef.

I envy you all.. I tried steak for the first time after surgery, I was so afraid if not chewing good enough.... So I chewed and chewed til it was just nasty :( steak will be missed.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
